"Walk Your Own Path, Even If You Believe You Know The Outcome.
For Walking The Path Presents Details You Had Never Thought Of Before,
And It Is These Details, These Little Moments, Which Truly Add Color To Your Life."
- David Julio Wang
Most people would have worded this advice as,
"Sometimes you just have to make your mistakes before you learn."
I cannot stand the patronizing, condescending, irritated tone I associate with the hearing of this advice.
It is advice one could give to a child,
but giving the advice does not mean the child is stupid.
We have to stop treating each other so poorly.
Can't we see the pain we cause? the lasting damage?
Life thought of as triumphs and mistakes is a very black and white world indeed,
and lest we forget,
"human beings see in color."
