Are They Sharing Freely, Openly, Generously? If Not...Move Along

Life is short.

Seek out people who are teachers, who share their knowledge openly and generously.

Having to pull teeth to get knowledge out of someone is exhausting and rarely worthwhile.

----

I know I'm the kind of person who shares everything I know.

I will only seek out people with the same philosophy to learn from.

And what is work supposed to be?

Have You Ever Been Told , "Don't Just Wait Around For 'Things To Feel Right' Before Doing Them. Just Do It."?

well...they are wrong (for the most part).

"Feelings Are The Fuel For Actions."

If something doesn't 'feel right' you will not be able to drum up much energy to do it, and it will likely not be a satisfying experience.

The real issue here though is one of truly 'knowing yourself'.

If something does not 'feel right' yet you still feel some desire to do it , perhaps the question is one of how thoroughly you know what it is you actually want.

Then the quest is to search inside yourself and come to know yourself more thoroughly.

I recommend using a "Comfortable Chair" and sinking deep into one's awareness.

The Life-Direction Question Of The Day

Getting past fear and doubt is difficult...

Moving past your mentally imposed limits is challenging.

There is so much to be aware of, so many things which can be addressed in a life that it is difficult to know where to begin.

Well, take it one day at a time.

When a particular question about the direction your life is taking crosses your mind, and it resonates with you as being truly important, make it your life-direction question of the day.

This question is the one you will be considering principally for the entirety of the day.
Perhaps making it the center of your mental efforts will yield good results.

Finding A "Job" - How To Direct Your Life Onto A Path Which Doesn't Lead To Regret-Filled Mediocrity

Four Simple Techniques
  1. Seek Out People Who Love What They Do : When you find people who love what they do, learn from them. Maybe they reject you at first. No problem. If you want it, if the knowledge calls to you, be persistent. No one who loves what they do will turn away someone who is as passionate as they for their...whatever. Human beings are designed to share knowledge.
  2. Find A Company, Coalition, Group... You Truly Like And Admire : Find a way to work for them. Start at the bottom. Get the education required. Meet them for coffee. Write about them for a newspaper or journal or blog. Shower them with letters, candy, love and affection. Whatever it takes. Love the group. Show them the love. Get in, or Get a lot of energy to find a similar place.
  3. Remember Moments In Your Past Which Had "Magic" : And find a way to make them reality. A piece of music moved you profoundly? Learn to play the instrument. Learn to compose. Become a writer on music. In my case, video games and movies move me deeply. I analyze what it is about them which draws me, and it is the adventure, friendship, and the growing.
  4. Approach People Who "Look Happy" : It's a good bet that if they look happy it is partially to do with them doing a "job" which they like. I think people who are happy want to help others become happy as well. Maybe the happy looking people can help you get a job at their work, or recommend you to a happy friend. Happy people want to make other people happy.
My Thoughts On The Techniques
  • I was raised to think that you needed to get a "real" job, a "real" education to get a real job, "real" networking to get to know where the real jobs were, etc, etc, servile drivel.
  • I have worked numerous jobs. Empty experiences. I don't connect with the job because I do it to make money, with the hope maybe I'll find...something which will grab me. This is a dead-end if there ever was one. I know it in my bones now. Kind of late at 31, but who cares? Certainly not our competition-driven, commercial-oriented society.

People Can Be Wrong, So Make Your Own Path

Other people can be wrong.

Throughout your life other people will advise you on
what you should do,
what you should think,
what you should feel.

Always keep in mind that they can be wrong.

So, what should you do?
Whose advice should you follow?

The age old answer : your heart.
What you "feel" is the right path, is the right path.
Search your feelings.
Search your mind.
Come to an understanding of who you really are inside.

Just remember, other people can be wrong.
If advice, beliefs, ideas don't feel right, then they are not right for you.
Find your own "right".

That is the quest of being an individual.
Finding yourself,
so that you become a strong part of the human whole.

When Logic And Words No Longer Have An Impact, Feelings Can Break Through

There comes a time when people become saturated with logical arguments and clever insights constructed with artfully combined words.

When convincing other people with mere words no longer has any effect.

In these instances, feelings are what can break through.

Showing how one truly feels can break one through to the other side of human inter-understanding.

For let us not forget, human beings are creatures of emotion, animals of emotion, on whom logic was grafted because it enabled greater survival, yet, logic and mind are not what lie at the core of the human being.

That core is : emotions.

Let Your Emotions Be Your Guide

A person's feelings are a direct echo of their relationship with the universe.
When a person's feelings are in chaos, their universe is the same.
When a person's feelings are at peace, so to is their universe.

In today's world, the majority of people are always at war with their feelings,
forcing themselves constantly to do what they don't feel right doing,
convincing themselves that they are happy with forceful coercion of the mind just so they can continue to function,
when in truth, they deny their feelings,
they deny how they truly feel,
they deny what is in their hearts.

Emotions may often guide a person into painful experiences, but better be guided through painful experiences in accord with how one feels, than to be living a lie of a life haunted by the specter of fear.

Feeling Lost As To Your Purpose? Search For Those Few, Special People Who Truly Love To Teach What They Know

The Daedalus Dilemma

If you teach all you know to another person, they might become better at it than you and take away your livelihood.

If you teach someone else well, you may teach them too well and find yourself left in the dust, as they surge to prosperity and you are discarded as yesteryear's model.

The Special Few Who Love What They Do And Love To Share

I think that there are only a few of these people in the world, and it takes a great deal of searching to find them, but, I believe there are people in the world who truly love what they do, and part of their feelings of love are expressed in a truly powerful desire to share their knowledge with others.

The "Real" Working World : The Rat Race

For the majority of people,
"the mass of men leading lives of quiet desperation",
the working world is one of competition,
everyone trying to get a piece of the pie,
everyone terrified of being abandoned and left behind,
teaching someone else is literally "taking food out of your own mouth".

Teaching someone else,
really trying to make another person better,
is something that simply feels like a waste of time.
Where is the profit in it?
How is it helping you?

Again, The Special Few

But...there are a few special people in the world who just don't see things this way.

They have connected with life through their art.
What they do truly fulfills them and they want to share that feeling with others.

One Of The Secrets To A Good Work LIfe : Find And Work For A Company You Believe In

When you work for a company you believe in,
helping them to succeed and carry their mandate forward,
being part of the team which helps them to do their work : work you believe in,
you put more of yourself into the work,
you learn more quickly,
you have more energy,
you have better ideas,
you are simply : happier, more fulfilled, life is worth living.

Don't Let The Fear Of Being Hurt Stop You From Action You Know Is Right For You

  • Be laughed at
  • Be ridiculed
  • Be sneered at
  • Be derided
  • Be insulted
  • Be pushed, shoved, tripped, and stabbed
  • Be punched in the face, the stomach, the kidneys
  • Be stepped on
  • Be spit on
  • Be kicked when you're already down
Don't let fear of being hurt stop you from doing what you feel is right, what you feel you need to do.
Much, much easier said than done of course.

----

Don't let the fear of suffering stop you from action.

Expose yourself to painful situations if doing so is part of the path to doing what calls to you.

----

You want to suffer.
You want to do your best, but still fail, and find that other people take advantage of your weakness to trample you and show you up.
You want that.
You gain strength from having been true to yourself, your convictions,
and despite the fact that you were true to yourself, that you acted in accord with what you felt was right, you still were beaten down for it.

Once you recover from the wounds of insult and injury,
you will become stronger, to compensate for the pain done to you.

It's not simple.
It's not straightforward.
This isn't a hard and fast rule,
but,
when you act, being true to yourself, and still suffer because of it...
when you have recovered, you will be stronger.

When The Words And Actions Of Adults Are Cruel, Greedy, And Corrupt, Remember This : They Were Once Children

Try to remember that adults were once children.
Children who had simple values.

"I want people to like me."
"Are my Mommy and Daddy happy with me?"
"I want to be welcomed by the popular kids."
"I hope I get invited to the popular kid's birthday party."

What becomes twisted and misshapen in adulthood is the simple values gone wrong because of feeling unwanted and unwelcome,
of children growing into adults who feel that
they are constantly fighting to feel included,
they are constantly fighting to be accepted,
that life is a never ending battle with their fellow human beings to earn the right to survive and be accepted.

Children who had simple needs and simple wants become adults who are twisted and perverted by a society, by a human mindset still rooted in fear and distrust.

Young, or not so young, And Stuck? Move.

- When you are young, or, even when you are unfortunately older, and you find yourself stuck and unsure about how to proceed in life, there is something you can do which will help you find your path again.

- Move

- "A change in environment, is a change in perspective."

- Specifically, move somewhere you have always wanted to be.
- Paris, because of the movie Ratatouille.
- Tokyo, because of Japanese Anime.
- London, because of Shakespeare.
- Alaska, because of the wilderness.
- and, so on.

- "A cart which is stuck in the mud, cannot be unstuck with the amount of energy which got it stuck in the first place."
"A cart which is stuck, requires more energy than what was originally used, to get the cart unstuck."

- It's all about energy.
- Going somewhere new is exciting. New smells. New sights.
A new feeling.

- KEEP YOURSELF BUSY
- Work a lot. Volunteer a lot. Keep meeting people. Meeting people adds to your experience, adds to your social group.

- New jobs, New experiences.
- The more experiences you have, the better.
- New experiences add new perspectives.

- Making your dreams come true.
- Dreams require energy. Experiences which give energy provide the sustenance for dreams.
- People are essential for dreams. They are energy. They are ideas. They are help.

Getting Over Something : Saturate Yourself With It, And See, And Feel, That It Does Not Fulfill You

"If you wish to get over something, move past something , remove something which is blocking you from moving forward , you need to get it out of your system."
"Saturate yourself with the thing until your system builds up a tolerance to it, until you simply become bored with it, until it simply does not stimulate you anymore."

"As with drugs, alcohol, exercise and any other addictions, when you saturate yourself with it, you build up a tolerance which turns into an absence of stimulation."
"When you reach that point, you have a choice, supported by your feelings : to continue needing something which is stopping your growth, or to let of go, because you can feel it no longer gives you anything."
"After having saturated yourself , and truly feeling how empty the stimulation is, the decision to let it go, is a simple one, free of lingering doubts about possibilities of something more that could have been extracted."

What To Do When You Lose / Quit / Get Fired From Your Job

"When you change jobs, or, become unemployed, because of a difficult necessity , take a month or two or three or however long you need, to recover your sense of self."
"Work for the vast majority of people means effort and fatigue and, more often than not, the need to force oneself to work out of the necessity to eat. In short, work life is mostly draining, and not particularly fulfilling for the majority of people."
"With that in mind, when you find yourself no longer working and lost, your 1st step, is to recover."
"Sleep, Eat and Be Merry."
"Your entire perspective on life will do a 180 once you are feeling rested and centered once more."
"The Capitalist madness does nothing but create severe neurosis in the population following its socioeconomic model."
"You need to heal your wounds and then you will be ready to find your next journey with a clear head and a buoyant heart."
"And, if you're really interested in making the world a better place, be part of the movement putting an end to Capitalism."
"But, remember the rest thing."

Journaling / Diarying / Brainstorming / Scribbling Down Thoughts...

It is very helpful to write out your thoughts when you are thinking about complicated matters.
The amount of information that a person needs to process in the experience of living is staggering.
Emotion is a person's source of energy, but Logic is the guide that channels that energy, and for Logic to function correctly a person must have their thoughts and ideas organized, hence the importance of writing one's ideas out.
